Starting Point

Starting point 2

Starting Point is a conversational environment where people can explore faith and experience community.

Who is Staring Point For?
  • Seekers-those who are curious about God, Jesus, the Bible, or Christianity
  • Starters-those who have just begun a relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Returners-those who have some church experience, but have been away for a while.

Starting Point groups are a safe place for people with questions about faith as well as those who want to learn about the Bible and Christianity. Groups consist of people who are curious and investigating Christianity, those who have recently started a relationship with God, or those who are reconnecting with God after being away from church for a while.

Starting Point focuses on investigating and discussing the Bible. These groups value authenticity, not settling just for Sunday School answers but digging in and asking hard questions that most Christians shy away from.

Starting Point is not for everyone. Starting Point is not for those who have substantial church experience or those looking to increase their biblical knowledge. It is designed to cover the basics of Christianity.

Even though Starting Point covers some of the most challenging issues of the Christian faith, the environment is not focused on the acquisition of biblical knowledge. Seekers, starters, and returners may be intimidated by those considered to be more mature Christians.

Here is a sample of some of the topics you will cover in Starting Point:

• How was the Bible formed?
• What about the contradictions in the Bible?
• Why are there so many Bible translations?
• How do I read the Bible?
• Why is there so much evil in the world?
• Why the bloody sacrificial system?
• Was Jesus just a great teacher or is he God?
• Are the gospel accounts reliable?
• How can I start a relationship with God?
• Do Christians still sin?
• What about baptism and communion?
• Is there really a hell?
• What about people who have never heard about Christ?

For people to ask the real hard questions, it must be a safe environment that is accepting to everyone. If you have any questions about starting point, click on the link to be directed to-www.startingpoint.com.
